The Line Game:

Watch the video, then proceed to the activitied below.

Activity 1:
Here is a list of vocabulary for this lesson:
  • acceptance
  • bias
  • prejudiced
  • relevance
  • validate

Define each of the words and then write a sentence using the word in context. (ex: I used to be prejudiced against people from different races, but the Line Game showed me how much we all have in common.)

Activity 2:
Think about the scene in the video above. Using the worksheet provided to you, follow these directions:
  • On the outside of the shoes, write or draw about how you felt watching the Line Game activity.
  • On the inside of the shoes, write or draw what you think the students perceived others were thinking or feeling.

In your own journal, respond to these questions:
  • How did you feel about the Line Game?
  • Which questions would you have stepped up to the line for?
  • What did you learn about others during that activity?
